Kaden Martin, a former two‑sport athlete from Catholic High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, has announced his commitment to LSU, where he will join the Tigers’ football program under head coach Lane Kiffin, the former Tennessee head coach who returned to the SEC after stints in the NFL.
Family Ties in the SEC
The move reunites Martin with his father, Tee Martin, who now serves as an offensive analyst for LSU after a distinguished playing career at the University of Tennessee and a national championship as a quarterback.
At Catholic High School, Martin set the program’s single‑season home run record with 13 homers in 2021 and earned All‑American honors from Perfect Game, showcasing a rare blend of baseball and football talent.
During his high school career, he played under head coach Steve Matthews, a former Tennessee quarterback, and amassed 2,605 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and 18 rushing touchdowns over two seasons.
Martin’s college journey has taken him to four institutions — Miami, East Tennessee State University, Middle Tennessee State University, and now LSU — reflecting a nomadic path that culminates in a return to the SEC.
Coaches expect the versatile playmaker to add depth to the Tigers’ offense, leveraging his dual‑sport background and experience across multiple programs as the team looks to rebuild its attacking options.
