Kelsi Andrews and Oliviyah Edwards among 22 prospects heading to Colorado Springs for a chance at the 2026 AmeriCup

Trials Set for 2026 U18 Women's Team

The United States' elite development pipeline will converge in Colorado Springs next month as 22 of the nation's top under‑18 women's basketball players gather for the 2026 USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team trials. The competition, held at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, will run from May 30 through early June, after which a 12‑player roster will be selected to represent the country at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup in Irapuato, Mexico, from June 9‑15.

Among the invitees are South Carolina Gamecocks freshmen Kelsi Andrews and Oliviyah Edwards, both of whom bring recent international experience. Andrews, a gold‑medalist from the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2023 FIBA U16 AmeriCup, is viewed as a front‑runner for a spot on the squad.

Edwards, who has attended USA Basketball camps for three consecutive years, brings a blend of skill and poise that coaches say could tip the balance in a deeply competitive field.

The trial pool includes seven athletes from the Class of 2026, 13 from the Class of 2027 and two from the Class of 2028, underscoring the depth of talent that the national program continues to cultivate.
