Jaime Land Leads Williamstown Braves to Flag Football Glory

Second‑year coach guides team to a 16‑1 record and the New Jersey championship, emphasizing teamwork and life lessons

A Season of Growth

Jaime Land, a health and physical education teacher at Williamstown High School, was named the Philadelphia Eagles High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week, an honor presented by Visa, after guiding the Braves to a 16‑1 record and the Eagles Girls Flag Football League of New Jersey Championship.

The Braves capped the season with a 20‑0 victory over Pleasantville at the Jefferson Health Training Complex on May 18, sealing the league title in impressive fashion.

Land’s first year as head coach came after the program’s inception, when she inherited an 11‑3 squad that reached the semifinals, and she has now added a championship to that early success.

Beyond the wins, Land credits the team’s achievements to the relentless work ethic of her players and the steady support of assistant coach Karen Dilmore, who has been a constant presence on the sidelines.

Star defender Shayna Demarest led the defense with 52 sacks this season, a statistic that underscores the aggressive style Land encourages.

Land also serves as the girls varsity basketball coach, where she recently recorded her 100th career win, a milestone that reflects her enduring impact across sports.

She believes flag football teaches valuable life lessons such as teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving under pressure, qualities she hopes to instill in her students and children.

According to Land, the ultimate goal is to inspire excellence while preserving integrity, and she sees coaching as a way to make a real difference in the lives of her players and students.
