The recent MAIS Futures games brought together some of the state's most promising high school baseball talent, and the accolades that followed underscored the quality of play.
MVP Honors
Sawyer Pettit, a catcher with Tri‑County Academy, emerged as one of the standout performers, blasting nine home runs and guiding his squad to a state runner‑up finish.
His all‑around impact was reflected not only in power numbers but also in the respect he earned from teammates and opponents alike.
Whit Davis, representing Jackson Academy, posted a .270 batting average, drove in 18 runs and posted a 2.85 earned‑run average over 61.1 innings, striking out 43 batters while walking just ten.
Both players were surrounded by a cadre of teammates — Grayson Rymer, Cade Hunt, Crews Albritton for Pettit, and Tyrese Haggard, Deuce Jenkins for Davis — who also saw action in the Futures showcase.

The presence of additional Madison County standouts such as Myles Stanley, Cole Ellison and others highlighted the depth of talent emerging from the region.
