A New Chapter for a Rising Coach
After six seasons at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Jodi Holleman is stepping down as head coach of the women's basketball team. During her tenure she guided the Lady Spartans to a regional championship in her first year and earned Coach of the Year honors, a testament to her emphasis on fundamentals and team culture.
Holleman will now take the helm of the girls varsity basketball program at Morris Area High School. In addition to this new role, she will remain the owner and director of the West Central Wildcats youth sports program, continuing to nurture young athletes across the region.
Community Impact and Future Outlook
Jason Retzlaff, co‑athletic director at M State, praised Holleman's lasting impact on student‑athletes and the college community. His remarks highlight the respect she earned for developing players who uplift teammates and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
The college has launched a search for a new women's head basketball coach. During the transition, college leadership will stay in close contact with current players and recruits to ensure continuity of support and program stability.
Holleman's departure marks the end of an era for M State's women's basketball but opens a new chapter for the sport in Morris. Her blend of tactical acumen and culture‑building is expected to leave a lasting imprint on the next generation of players in the area.
