A Strategic Addition for Central's Offense
Owen Brase, a former wide receiver for the Dutch football team, is set to join Central College’s coaching staff as the tight ends coach for the 2026 season. After a playing career marked by injuries that cut short his 2023 and 2024 campaigns, Brase brings a deep understanding of the position to his new role.
Brase’s journey to Central began with a stint as a student assistant for the Dutch in 2025, where he supported the quarterbacks and tight ends. He later contributed to the University of Iowa’s recruiting efforts during the summer of 2025 and honed his coaching philosophy while working as a strength and speed trainer for Mount Vernon High School in the summers of 2023 and 2024.
A Proven Track Record
During his three seasons with the Dutch, the program posted an 8‑2 record each year and finished third in the American Rivers Conference. That consistency reflects a culture of resilience that Brase experienced firsthand as a player who battled through setbacks and emerged stronger.
His appointment signals Central’s intent to blend veteran insight with fresh energy, positioning the team for continued competitiveness in the coming years.
