A Vision for Character and Competition
Alyse Lacey was appointed head coach of Pacific Lutheran University's women's basketball team on May 11, marking a new chapter for the program and setting the stage for her debut on June 1.
Her coaching résumé includes a successful stint at Auburn Mountainview, where she steered the squad to a 16‑5 record in the 2024‑25 season and a second‑place finish the prior year, after earlier roles at Kennedy Catholic and Kentlake.
PLU Athletic Director Mike Snyder highlighted Lacey's passion and strategic vision, noting that her focus on player development dovetails with the university's goal of fostering a competitive yet character‑driven program.
A 1998 Eastern Washington University alumna, Lacey holds a master's degree from Grand Canyon University and repeatedly stresses the importance of relationships, confidence, and toughness in shaping her players.
Beyond X's and O's, she aims to cultivate a culture where young women excel both on the hardwood and in their personal growth, promising an exciting future for PLU basketball.
