A Historic Season
Georgia Tech announced on Tuesday that Coach James Ramsey has signed a new five‑year contract, extending his tenure through the 2031 season. The agreement was confirmed by athletics director Ryan Alpert, who praised Ramsey’s transformative impact on the program.
Under Ramsey’s guidance, the Yellow Jackets posted a 48‑9 record, the best winning percentage for a Power Four program in the BBCOR era. The team captured both the regular‑season and tournament titles in the Atlantic Coast Conference, earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and posted offensive numbers that rank among the most prolific in conference history.
The surge in performance translated into record attendance figures. Georgia Tech sold out nine home games, drawing an average of 2,891 fans per game — the largest crowd in state history. The increased ticket sales and related revenue have positioned the program among the most financially successful baseball initiatives in the region.
A further boost came from an anonymous donor who pledged to match up to $2.5 million in multiyear contributions for baseball scholarships. The commitment underscores the community’s confidence in the program’s trajectory.
NCAA Tournament Road Ahead
The Yellow Jackets open their NCAA Tournament campaign this weekend, hosting the Atlanta Regional against No. 4 seed UIC on Friday at noon. A regional victory would propel the team to a Super Regional the following week, with a berth in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, on the line.
