Michael Bublé, the Grammy‑winning singer known for his smooth croons, and Drew Scott, the charismatic co‑host of the Property Brothers, are set to become joint owners of the Vancouver Giants, the WHL’s junior hockey franchise based in British Columbia.
The partnership will be chronicled in a new docuseries titled Hometown Giants, which is slated to debut on Prime Video this fall. The series is being produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, promising an inside look at the team’s operations, community ties and the personal journeys of the new owners.
Prime Video’s Canadian expansion
Alongside Hometown Giants, the platform will launch a survival series fronted by Scott McGillivray and a true‑crime miniseries that revisits the disturbing case of serial killer Robert Pickton. Both projects underscore the service’s commitment to diverse storytelling.
In the sports arena, Prime Video Canada is adding a slate of professional leagues to its roster. The platform will broadcast games from the Premier Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the NBA, while also debuting the 2026 WNBA season on May 14.
Michael Bublé’s recent television work includes serving as a judge and coach on NBC’s The Voice for Seasons 26 through 28, adding a music‑industry perspective to his new hockey venture. Drew Scott, meanwhile, has been a fixture on Property Brothers since 2011 and previously competed on Dancing with the Stars, bringing a design‑and‑entertainment sensibility to the ownership group.
The move reflects a broader strategy by Prime Video to blend original scripted content with live sports and reality‑based programming, positioning the service as a one‑stop destination for Canadian audiences seeking both entertainment and athletic coverage.
