No Penalties for Zilisch After Watkins Glen Review
NASCAR inspected Connor Zilisch's No. 88 Chevrolet following the Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International and determined that the car was clean, clearing the driver to continue without any sanctions.
The inspection was part of the series' routine R&D Center checks, a process that in past seasons has uncovered infractions costing teams and drivers more than 100 points. This time, however, the outcome was favorable for Zilisch and his Trackhouse Racing crew.
Sitting 32nd in the championship standings with a 138‑point gap to the Chase bubble, Zilisch has 14 races remaining in the regular season to climb the leaderboard. He is focused on translating the clean inspection into stronger performances on the track.
The next challenges on his schedule include the high‑stakes NASCAR All‑Star Race and a trip to Dover Motor Speedway, events that could prove pivotal for the team's 2026 ambitions.
Trackhouse Racing has publicly stated that it is seeking additional speed for the upcoming season, and the positive outcome at Watkins Glen provides a morale boost as the organization refines its package for the remainder of the year.
