The Wisconsin Badgers have entered a period of transition within their athletic administration, with several senior staff members stepping away from their roles in the past few months.
Most recently, the Badgers' Assistant Director of Player Personnel announced that he will be leaving the university to take on a senior front‑office position at UCLA, where he will serve as Director of Player Personnel.
He came to Madison in 2024 after a stint as a recruiting specialist for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and his responsibilities grew as the department lost both its previous Director of Player Personnel and General Manager, Max Stienecker, who departed for another opportunity.
UCLA, not content with a single hire, also brought on board former James Madison head coach Bob Cheney earlier this offseason, underscoring an aggressive recruitment drive aimed at reshaping its basketball operations.
A Strategic Shift in the Big Ten
The ripple effect of these moves means Wisconsin must now locate a successor for the general manager role, a position that has been left vacant following Stienecker's exit. In the interim, Marcus Sedberry has been appointed Athletic Director after Chris McIntosh's departure, tasked with stabilizing the program while a permanent solution is found.
