The United States Postal Service will issue a new North American Soccer stamp on May 28, marking the latest in a series of commemorative releases that highlight the sport’s rising profile in the country.
The stamp captures the instantly recognizable ‘Gooooal!’ shout that erupts whenever a goal is scored, translating the excitement of the stadium into a tiny, collectible format.
Designed by Antonio Alcalá, the USPS art director who also created the 2023 Women’s Soccer stamp, the artwork depicts a player mid‑kick, striking a volley with dynamic motion that mirrors the energy of a live match.
A Stamp That Scores
The release coincides with the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co‑hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, a tournament that is expected to further boost soccer’s cultural footprint across North America.
A dedication ceremony for the stamp is scheduled at the Boston 2026 World Exposition stamp show, where collectors and fans alike will get a first look at the new issue.
The Forever stamps will be sold in sheets of 20 at post offices nationwide and through the Postal Service’s website, usps.com, ensuring easy access for both philatelists and casual enthusiasts.
