Childe Dundão of Petro de Luanda set a new league benchmark by logging 1,073 minutes of play, while Craig Randall II of the RSSB Tigers erupted for a BAL‑record 54 points in a single game. The same night, Al Ahly Ly and Dar City combined for a 215‑point explosion, establishing a fresh scoring record for the competition.
The surge in popularity also brought a wave of experienced talent, with eight former NBA players seeing action and five athletes appearing in all six editions of the league. Damion Baugh made history as the first player to register a triple‑double in his debut BAL season, underscoring the growing competitiveness of the circuit.
The playoffs also feature a strong contingent of FIBA AfroBasket 2025 participants, with eleven of the sixteen national teams from that tournament represented on the court. This blend of continental experience and NBA pedigree has helped the league reach fans in 214 countries and territories, covering every African nation.
Looking ahead, the finals are scheduled for May 31, and the competition will conclude a season that welcomed a record 22 marketing, merchandising and institutional partners.
