The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced its 2026 Division II All‑Region squads, honoring eight athletes from the Peach Belt Conference for their outstanding performances this season.
Koehler’s Historic Recognition
Evan Koehler of Georgia Southwestern stands alone as the only Peach Belt player to earn first‑team honors on all three All‑Region teams, a distinction that also earned him the ABCA/Rawlings Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year award. He led the conference with 119 strikeouts and posted a 3.09 ERA, while nationally he tops Division II in strikeouts and ranks fifth in strikeout‑to‑walk ratio at 6.26.
Other Standout Performers
North Georgia’s Kyle Robitzch, USCA’s Salvatore Laimo, Flagler’s George Gilson and CJ Hanson were selected to the second team, marking the third All‑Region nod of the season for each. Meanwhile, North Georgia’s Ben Hamacher, Georgia Southwestern’s Evan Cowan and Georgia Southwestern’s Evan Wainman received second‑team accolades for the second time, underscoring their consistent impact.
Conference Reach
The honorees hail from institutions across the Southeast, including schools in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida, underscoring the Peach Belt’s geographic footprint. Their selections were coordinated by the ABCA’s NCAA Division II All‑America & Coach of the Year Committee, in partnership with the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The recognitions reflect a season of dominance for the conference’s pitchers and the broader impact of the Peach Belt’s programs on the national Division II landscape, highlighting the region’s growing influence in collegiate baseball.
