DePaul University has secured a home-and-home basketball series with Saint Louis University for the 2026‑27 season, marking the first meeting between the programs since 2008 and bringing the total all‑time matchups to 62.
The opening game is scheduled for December 12 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, while the return contest will take place in 2027 at Wintrust Arena on DePaul’s Chicago campus, giving each fan base a chance to host the rivalry.
Reviving a historic rivalry
The series reconnects two schools that once shared the Great Midwest Conference before both moved to Conference USA, a link that adds a layer of nostalgia and competitive flavor to the upcoming contests.
Saint Louis entered the conversation with a 29‑6 record last season, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament under head coach Josh Schertz, who is in his third year leading the Billikens.
The series is part of a broader non‑conference slate that also includes games against SMU, USF, Purdue and Pitt, underscoring DePaul’s strategy of testing itself against a diverse set of opponents early in the year.
