Brooklyn Schneiderhan’s Journey from Calgary to International Ball Hockey Stardom

Despite limited high‑school resources, the young forward signs with Swiss club and prepares for world championships while eyeing a nursing career

Brooklyn Schneiderhan’s hockey journey began on the frozen ponds of Calgary, where she first fell in love with the sport as a toddler.

After relocating to Helena, she enrolled at Jefferson High, a school that does not field a hockey team, forcing her to carve her own path.

Determined to continue competing, Schneiderhan signed a contract with Swiss Hockey Club Neuchâtel in the PostFinance Women’s League, bringing her talent to Europe.

She is now set to travel with the U.S. National Ball Hockey team to Czechia for the International Ball Hockey World Championships, representing her new nation on a global stage.

A Multisport Athlete Turned Division I Prospect

Before committing fully to ice hockey, Schneiderhan excelled in volleyball and track & field, later signing with New Hampshire’s St. Anselm College at the end of her sophomore year.

Her collegiate performance included 124 goals, earning her Division I All‑Star honors from the New England Hockey Writers’ Association and the New England Women’s Hockey Alliance Player of the Year award.

She once planned to return to Helena to study nursing at Carroll College, but her ambitions have taken her across continents and onto the world championship roster.

Schneiderhan dedicates her recent season to her late best friend Avery Stiles, whose memory fuels her drive on the rink and the ball floor.

In advice to Jefferson High’s graduating seniors, she urges them not to take their opportunities for granted and to chase their dreams with relentless focus.
