UCF's athletic department announced on May 28 that head coach Johnny Dawkins has signed a three‑year contract extension, securing his position through the 2029‑30 season.

Dawkins, who has led the program since 2016, finishes the latest campaign with a 21‑12 record and the school's first NCAA Tournament berth in seven years.
The extension comes as the Knights posted their best season in over a decade, a performance that also earned Dawkins the distinction of having the lowest salary among Big 12 coaches at $2.1 million last year.
Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir praised Dawkins' leadership, emphasizing the stability and momentum he has instilled in the program.
