The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission has unveiled the brackets for the regional round of the baseball playoffs, setting the stage for a competitive showdown across the state.
In Class AAA Region II, Bridgeport earned the No. 1 seed after a vote by coaches within the region, reflecting their confidence in the team’s early-season performance.
The regional stage will follow a double‑elimination format, giving squads a second chance before they must pack their bags for the state tournament.
Play begins on Monday, May 18, with each region sending two teams from Classes AAA, AA and A, while Class AAAA regions will advance four teams apiece.
State Tournament at Marshall University
Winners of the regional finals will converge at Marshall University’s Jack Cook Field for the state baseball tournament, scheduled to run from Saturday, June 6 through Saturday, June 13.
This edition marks the inaugural eight‑team state tournament, promising a condensed but high‑stakes conclusion to the high school season.
