A season of new challenges
The Mountain West Conference announced the complete football schedule for the Nevada Wolf Pack on Wednesday, confirming a slate of games that will run from early September through late November.
The opening battle arrives on Saturday, September 5, at 7:30 p.m., when Nevada travels to face Western Kentucky on CBS Sports Network. The matchup marks the first test of a schedule that blends home contests with road trips across the country.
Beyond the opener, the Wolf Pack will meet a diverse set of opponents, including Montana State, Middle Tennessee, Air Force, UTEP, North Dakota State, San José State, UCLA, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, Hawai‘i and arch‑rival UNLV. Each game brings its own storyline, from the high‑altitude clash in Colorado to the West Coast showdown with UCLA.
Conference officials emphasized that the schedule was crafted to balance competitive balance and logistical considerations, ensuring that teams have adequate rest and travel time. Broadcast partners were also secured for most contests, guaranteeing that fans can follow the action across multiple platforms.
For Nevada’s coaching staff, the schedule provides a clear roadmap for preparation, allowing them to tailor practice regimens and focus on key rivals. Players, meanwhile, are already looking forward to the variety of environments they will encounter, from the desert heat of Las Vegas to the snow‑capped fields of the Midwest.
As the season progresses, the Wolf Pack hopes to translate the experience gained from non‑conference games into momentum within Mountain West play, aiming for a strong finish that could secure a conference championship and a berth in a bowl game.
