The 2026 District 25-6A baseball awards have been announced, spotlighting a breakout season for Vandegrift High School.
Vandegrift’s Historic Sweep
Carson Tan, a pitcher and shortstop for the Vipers, was crowned the district’s Most Valuable Player, capping a season that saw him dominate both on the mound and at the plate.
Marshall Linenberger, an outfielder also from Vandegrift, earned the Offensive Player of the Year honor after delivering a string of clutch hits and power surges.
Coach Jarod Hickle, who guided the Vipers to their inaugural district title, was recognized as Coach of the Year, a testament to his strategic acumen and player development.
Additional individual accolades went to Justin Sandusky of McNeil, named Defensive Player of the Year, and Drew Wells of Vista Ridge, who took home Pitcher of the Year.
The all‑district teams reflect a spread of talent across the region, with first‑team selections drawn from Vandegrift, Westwood, Vista Ridge, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Stony Point and Hutto.
Second‑team honorees hail from Round Rock, Westwood, Cedar Ridge, Hutto, Manor and Stony Point, while third‑team members represent Round Rock, McNeil, Stony Point, Cedar Ridge, Manor, Vista Ridge and Hutto.
The sweep of top awards underscores Vandegrift’s rapid rise and sets a high bar for the upcoming season, as the district looks forward to another year of competitive baseball.
