Alecia Parker has been named the new head coach of Whitworth University's women's basketball program, bringing a proven track record of excellence to the Pacific Northwest. Her appointment follows a distinguished eight‑year stint at Pacific University, where she led the Boxers to three straight appearances in the Northwest Conference Championship Game.
During her tenure at Pacific, Parker compiled a 106‑84 overall record and celebrated her 100th career win on November 22, 2025, in a dramatic 95‑92 double‑overtime victory over Colorado College. She also orchestrated an 11‑game winning streak against Whitworth, underscoring her ability to elevate competition.
Parker’s success was not limited to the scoreboard. In the 2019‑20 season she guided the Boxers to a 17‑9 record and a second‑place finish in the conference, and she revived the program’s presence in the NWC Tournament, hosting the first round for the first time since 1996. Her teams consistently improved, reaching the championship game in the 2021‑22, 2022‑23 and 2023‑24 seasons.
Before joining Pacific, Parker served as an assistant coach at Whitworth for four years, gaining intimate knowledge of the program’s culture and expectations. Her return to Whitworth is viewed as a strategic infusion of experience and continuity, poised to restore the Pirates to their former competitive standing.
