The University of Minnesota Duluth has released the full 2026‑27 women’s ice hockey schedule, setting the stage for a season that begins on September 25‑26.
Season Opener and Non‑Conference Slate
The Bulldogs will open the campaign with a non‑conference series against Mercyhurst, with the visitors opening the season at Amsoil Arena.
UMD will also travel to face Vermont and Quinnipiac in a trio of series, each scheduled as a doubleheader weekend that promises ample ice time for both programs.
Doubleheaders and Men’s Team Collaboration
At least four doubleheaders are slated to feature the women’s and men’s squads on the same night, giving fans a rare chance to see both teams in action on consecutive shifts.
Frozen Four Outlook
The Bulldogs have secured a berth in the 2027 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four, which is scheduled to be hosted at Amsoil Arena from March 19‑21, potentially overlapping with the NCHC playoffs.
If the tournament runs into early April, the overlap could create a packed arena atmosphere, blending the excitement of the national championship with the intensity of conference postseason play.
With a 4‑3 record outside the Western Collegiate Hockey Association last season, the team enters the new year looking to build on that momentum and make a deep run in the national tournament.
