A new chapter for the Tar Heels
The University of North Carolina has released its ACC slate for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season, marking the second year of the conference’s 18‑game format.
The Tar Heels will meet Duke and Louisville twice apiece, while a handful of traditional rivals will also appear on the home calendar, including Cal, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, SMU, Stanford and Virginia.
Road trips will take the team to Boston College, Florida State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, but the schedule notably leaves out Clemson for the first time since 1951.
No dates or tip‑off times have been set, and the only regular‑season meeting with rival NC State will be a single contest, a stark contrast to the previous season when the Wolfpack traveled to Chapel Hill for the first time since 1919.
The upcoming campaign will also be the first under new head coach Michael Malone, who took over in April after Hubert Davis stepped down, ushering in a fresh direction for the program.
