The University of Pennsylvania has unveiled its 2030 football recruiting class, a cohort of 26 freshmen who will join the Quakers next fall. The group reflects a broad geographic spread, encompassing two countries, a Canadian province and 13 different states, underscoring the program’s national reach.
Coach Rick Santos said the class is defined by more than sheer athletic ability; he highlighted the players’ character, work ethic and dedication to both academic rigor and competitive success. According to Santos, the incoming group embodies the university’s tradition of excellence on and off the field.
Among the newcomers, Jaydon Avery brings a multi‑sport background from Pace Academy, where he lettered in football, basketball and track, while DJ Brown was honored as the 2024 Steve DiGregorio Young Man of the Year and earned a place on the 2025 First Team All‑New Jersey Prep Football. Jase Catullo, a former captain at Chatham High School, adds multiple All‑Conference accolades, and Simon Cofrancesco helped guide his team to a 2025 Private Region championship.
A culture of ambition
The class also features athletes such as Jacob Earnest, a three‑time varsity letter winner from Ohio, and Luke Flowers, who contributed to four consecutive Big West Upper League titles. Andrew Gillman, Cam Hughes and Gavin Jeffries each led their high schools to state‑level championships, while Nate Kashey set a New Jersey record for career made PATs. The diversity of achievements extends across sports, leadership roles and community involvement, painting a picture of a cohort prepared to thrive in Penn’s demanding environment.
