The North Carolina 2A girls soccer championship unfolded on a crisp evening in Durham, pitting the defending powerhouse Christ the King Crusaders against a determined Franklin Academy squad.
Peirce's Hat Trick
Addison Peirce, a junior forward for the Crusaders, opened the scoring in the third minute before doubling the lead in the 29th minute, the latter assisted by teammate Erin Reyes. She capped the performance with a third goal in the 71st minute, threading her way past three defenders to seal a 3‑0 victory.
Franklin Academy, despite carving out several chances, could not find the net, with their attack stifled by a disciplined defensive line anchored by Erin Reyes.
A Dynasty Renewed
The win marks the fourth state title for Christ the King in the past five years, underscoring the program’s sustained excellence, while Franklin Academy continues its search for a second championship since their 2017 triumph.
