New Additions Strengthen Defensive Line
The University of New Mexico Lobos have added two standout players to their 2026 women's soccer squad, signaling a strategic push to reinforce the defensive line. Both signings come as the program looks to build on recent successes and maintain its competitive edge in the Mountain West Conference.
Madison London, a native of Limehouse, Ontario, joins the Lobos after a distinguished youth career with the Canadian national age‑group teams. Though she spent her freshman year at Creighton University without seeing action on the pitch, London has already earned caps at the U20 level and contributed to championship‑winning sides in the League 1 Ontario Women’s Premier Division in 2022 and 2024. The goalkeeper will pursue a degree in exercise science at UNM, blending her athletic ambitions with academic rigor.
Alison Peralta, hailing from Uruapan, Michoacán, brings a blend of collegiate and club experience to Albuquerque. At Arizona Western College she appeared in 23 matches, registering a goal and two shots in her final season, and was a key member of Club Toluca’s defense, a unit recognized as the best in the league for 2023. Peralta plans to major in kinesiology at UNM, aiming to leverage her studies to deepen her understanding of athletic performance.
The arrivals of London and Peralta reflect the Lobos’ commitment to recruiting talent that excels both on the field and in the classroom. Their diverse backgrounds — from the frost‑bitten fields of Ontario to the vibrant streets of central Mexico — enrich the team’s cultural fabric while reinforcing the program’s defensive philosophy. As the 2026 season approaches, the coaching staff expresses confidence that the new signings will help sustain the Lobos’ upward trajectory.
