Charles Clark Named New Boys Basketball Coach at Clarksville High School

After 28 seasons under Ted Young, the Wildcats appoint former player and longtime assistant Charles Clark as head coach

A New Era for Wildcats Basketball

Charles Clark, a Clarksville High School alumnus, has been appointed the new head coach of the boys basketball team, taking over from longtime mentor Ted Young after his 28‑year tenure.

Clark spent six years at Clarksville Academy, where he compiled a 106‑65 record, captured a district championship in 2021 and guided the team to five winning seasons, a performance that earned him the respect of players and administrators alike.

Before his stint at Clarksville Academy, he served as an assistant under Young, helped the Wildcats reach the Class AAA state championship game in 2007, and later coached the girls basketball program at Clarksville Academy before moving on to lead the boys at Kenwood and Houston County.

His coaching journey also includes two separate assistant roles at Rossview High School, giving him a broad network of relationships across the region’s basketball community.

Looking Ahead

School officials and local fans alike are optimistic that Clark’s deep roots in the community and proven track record will propel the program to new heights in the coming seasons.
