Baseball Coach Pleads Not Guilty in Domestic Violence Case

Jack Tully Christian’s alleged abuse raises concerns over youth mentorship in Oklahoma

Baseball coach charged with strangulation and property damage

Jack Tully Christian, a 31‑year‑old baseball instructor from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, appeared in court this week to enter a not‑guilty plea to charges of strangulation and malicious damage to property.

According to police reports, Christian allegedly entered his girlfriend’s home, restrained her and repeatedly choked her until she nearly lost consciousness, before turning his attention to the residence and causing extensive damage.

Coaching career and prior allegations

Beyond the alleged assault, Christian runs private pitching lessons and summer camps under the banner of JC Pitching, a business he operates out of Bixby, where he also previously served as a coach at local schools.

Stone Shew, a former business associate, said he was stunned when Christian’s mugshot appeared online, prompting him to post a video of himself burning a shirt emblazoned with the coach’s name.

Shew disclosed that Christian had been the subject of two prior protective orders filed by other women, and he now worries that the allegations could tarnish the reputation of the youth programs he once oversaw.

While there is no evidence that Christian holds a current position within a public school district, investigators say the case underscores a pattern of abusive behavior that may have broader implications for the community’s youth sports environment.
