Megan Gustafson reached a career milestone this week, becoming the latest WNBA player to join the exclusive 800‑point club.
A milestone in the making
Playing for the Portland Fire, she logged 10 points and five rebounds in just 18 minutes during a loss to the Atlanta Dream, pushing her career total to 800 points.
The 29‑year‑old is enjoying the best statistical season of her professional career, averaging 9.1 points per game and shooting a career‑high 59.3% from the field.
If she maintains that pace, the 1,000‑point threshold could be within reach before the season ends.
Gustafson’s journey to this point began in Iowa City, where she became the all‑time leading scorer for the Hawkeyes with 2,804 points.
The Dallas Wings selected her in the second round of the 2019 WNBA draft, and she later contributed to championship runs with the Las Vegas Aces before signing a two‑year deal with the Fire.
Her previous stops also include the Washington Mystics, the Phoenix Mercury, and a key bench role on the Aces’ 2025 title‑winning squad.
Next up, Gustafson and the Fire will host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday night, a rematch of last week’s Indiana victory, with tip‑off scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on CBS.
