Auburn's baseball team is set to host UCF in an NCAA Tournament regional game on Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. Central Time at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama.
The Knights entered the tournament after a 13‑6 loss to Milwaukee, a contest that began with a 9‑0 lead for the opposition and never recovered.
Should the Tigers prevail, they will meet Milwaukee again at 7 p.m. CT later that evening, a matchup that could shape the next round's bracket.
UCF arrives with a 32‑22 record and a lineup punctuated by standout performances. Zak Skinner paces the team with a .365 batting average, while Andrew Williamson leads the club with 15 home runs and John Smith III drives in 49 runs.
Pitching depth is anchored by Kris Sosnowski, whose 2.10 ERA is the lowest on the staff, and Camden Wicker, who has recorded 62 strikeouts. Anthony Lariz rounds out the rotation with the opponent's batting average held to just .188.
The game will be played in front of a home crowd eager to see the Tigers advance, while UCF looks to rally behind its key contributors as the tournament progresses.
