Quaker Valley Golf Outing Aims to Boost Football and Cheer Programs

Community fundraiser scheduled for July 24 at Beaver Valley Golf Course

A summer fundraiser is set to bring together families, alumni and local supporters for a cause that goes beyond the fairway.

Community Support Fuels Future Success

The Quaker Valley Football and Cheer Golf Outing will take place on July 24 at the scenic Beaver Valley Golf Course in Patterson Heights, Pennsylvania. Participants can choose between a $125 individual green fee or a $500 rate for a full foursome, a price that covers 18 holes, a hot‑dog lunch, an Italian dinner buffet and a slate of prizes and contests.

Coach Tom Eshenbaugh, who has been guiding the program for several seasons, says the event is more than a charity drive; it is a chance to invest in the future of both the football team and the cheer squad. He notes that the roster is expanding, with four of the five offensive linemen from last year returning, and that the experience gained should translate into a more competitive campaign.

Junior offensive lineman and linebacker Tyler Cunnard, a 6‑foot‑2, 180‑pound standout, spoke about the intangible strengths his teammates bring. “Our drive and the bond we share are the biggest assets we have heading into the season,” he said, emphasizing how the camaraderie fuels daily improvement.

The Quakers finished the previous season with a 4‑6 record, a result that coach Eshenbaugh believes will be a distant memory if the current trajectory holds. The combination of returning talent and added community support is expected to lift the team’s performance on the field.

Beyond the scores, the golf outing underscores the importance of local engagement in high school athletics. Funds raised will directly support equipment purchases, travel costs and other essential needs for the football and cheer programs, reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between the school and its community.
