Indiana University’s football program has landed a new verbal commitment that could shape the future of its defense. Brady Scott, a 3-star safety out of Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, chose the Hoosiers over a slate of Power-4 programs, including Iowa, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Penn State and others.
A Versatile Defender with Dual-Position Experience
Ranked No. 525 overall and No. 49 among safeties nationally, Scott brings a blend of size, speed and playmaking ability that attracted multiple Power-4 suitors. His recruitment underscores Indiana’s ability to compete for top talent beyond the traditional hotbeds.
Beyond his defensive duties, Scott also logged significant snaps at wide receiver, showcasing his versatility and football IQ. The dual-position experience adds depth to the Hoosiers’ roster and offers creative options for offensive schemes.
In his junior season at Tabor Academy, Scott recorded 59 tackles, seven pass break-ups, three interceptions, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. Those numbers helped cement his status as a top prospect in New England and contributed to a strong recruiting narrative for Indiana.
The commitment brings Indiana’s 2027 class to nine verbal pledges, underscoring a recruiting push that could elevate the program’s national profile. With each addition, the Hoosiers are building a foundation that could translate into on-field success in the coming years.
