All‑State Honors and Season Recap
The 2026 South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association has announced its 5A Division 1 Boys Soccer All‑State Team, recognizing the standout performances of senior players from across the state, including Ashley Ridge’s Joshua DeSouza and Keith McCune.
DeSouza served as the team’s offensive catalyst, topping the roster with 21 goals, 88 shots and 29 steals, which translated into 48 points for the season.
In goal, McCune posted a 0.880 goals‑against average, made 54 saves and recorded seven shutouts, anchoring a defense that helped the Raiders finish 14‑11 overall and third in 5A Region 8.
The Raiders’ playoff journey featured a 3‑0 victory over Carolina Forest before a narrow 1‑0 loss to Lexington, a run that highlighted the team’s resilience and depth.
Philip Simmons High School also celebrated six selections to the 2A Boys All‑State Team, led by senior Cris Morales, who paced the Eagles with 31 goals, 21 assists and 83 points.
Supporting contributors such as Sam Henry, Grayson Barna, Charlie Collier, Ramon Morales and Peyton Owens helped the Eagles finish 22‑3, go 9‑1 in Region 6 and capture playoff wins over Edisto, Cheraw and Atlantic Collegiate Academy, suggesting a promising future for the program.
