A Season of Excellence
The Vicksburg Post has unveiled its 2025 All‑County soccer teams, recognizing the region’s top talent across boys and girls divisions. Selections were made from schools including Vicksburg, Warren Central, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy, reflecting a competitive season that culminated in deep playoff runs.
Jacob Porter of Warren Central stood out as the overall Player of the Year. He topped the county with 27 goals and added seven assists, helping the Vikings secure a third straight appearance in the Class 6A semifinals. Over three varsity seasons Porter has amassed 60 goals, a milestone that underscores his consistency and impact.
Coach Jeremy Lawrence was honored as Coach of the Year after guiding Warren Central to the semifinals for the third consecutive season. His leadership was pivotal in shaping a squad that combined offensive firepower with disciplined defense, a formula that has become a hallmark of the program.
On the girls side, Jordan Polk earned Player of the Year honors. She led the Lady Vikes to a 14‑7‑1 record and captured the Region 2‑6A championship, marking the team’s third straight semifinal appearance. Her contributions highlighted a strong defensive backbone and a knack for timely scoring.
The All‑County teams also reflect the breadth of talent across the county, with fifteen players earning spots on the boys list and a comparable number on the girls list. The recognition celebrates not only individual excellence but also the collaborative spirit of local programs that continue to elevate soccer in the region.
