Bayside Soccer Celebrates 30 Years with Community Festivities

Volunteer‑driven organization marks three decades of youth soccer and scholarship support

Bayside Soccer gathered families and volunteers at Bay College’s soccer fields last weekend to commemorate a three‑decade milestone, turning the campus into a hub of activity for children of all ages. Tana Porath, a longtime coordinator, helped steer the celebration.

Games That Sparked Joy

The festivities featured an obstacle course, skills nets, soccer bowling, tic‑tac‑toe and a bouncy house, each designed to engage youngsters while highlighting the spirit of teamwork.

Participants earned points for each challenge, points that could later be exchanged for prizes donated by local teams and sponsors, adding a friendly competitive edge to the day.

Color Run Finale

The event concluded with a vibrant color run, for which tickets were priced at $35. All proceeds were earmarked for soccer scholarships and equipment, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to accessibility.

Bayside Soccer, a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, offers summer rec leagues for kids aged eight to eighteen and runs additional programs in the spring and fall, ensuring year‑round access to the sport. The celebration underscored a broader mission: to nurture talent and provide resources that keep youth soccer thriving in the community.
