Hanna (Beattie) Petrick’s recent induction into the New Jersey High School Ice Hockey Hall of Fame celebrates a career that began on the frozen ponds of New Jersey and has since rippled through every level of the sport.
Petrick’s earliest memories are tied to the Essex Hunt Club in Peapack, where she first laced up skates and joined the New Jersey Colonials’ girls’ and boys’ programs, competing alongside both male and female teammates.
High School and College Accolades
At The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, she emerged as a scoring leader, earning First Team Women’s Interscholastic Hockey League of the Mid‑Atlantic honors and First Team Star‑Ledger All‑State recognition.
Her collegiate breakthrough came at Williams College, where she helped the team capture its first New England Small College Athletic Conference championship, cementing her reputation as a clutch performer.
Professionally, Petrick spent five seasons with the Connecticut Whale in the National Women’s Hockey League, later rebranded as the Premier Hockey Federation, where she contributed to the league’s growth and visibility.
Today, she applies that playing experience to her work on the NHL’s Innovation Team, championing technologies and fan‑engagement initiatives that aim to modernize the game and broaden its reach.
Off the ice, Petrick lives in Manhattan with her husband Michael, and she shares a familial bond with her brother Matt Beattie, whose own induction in 2018 placed both siblings in the Hall of Fame’s distinguished roster.
