Kurt McGuffin, who serves as Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics at the University of Tennessee at Martin, has been named to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Oversight Committee. McGuffin’s term as the Ohio Valley Conference representative will extend through August 31, 2030, providing a long‑term perspective on the committee. Prior to this role, he chaired the NCAA Division I Women's Softball Committee from 2023 to 2025 and served as President of the Division I FCS Athletic Directors Association for the 2025‑26 season.
During his tenure at UT Martin, McGuffin has overseen the growth of ten athletic programs that have captured conference and regional championships. The department also set a school record with a 3.37 grade point average in the 2026 spring semester, underscoring a commitment to academic excellence.
