Sebastian Mack, a 6‑foot‑3 guard who grew up on the South Side of Chicago, announced last week that he will join the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for the 2026‑27 season.
Mack’s journey to the Rebels has been marked by stints at two power‑conference programs. He began his collegiate career at UCLA, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Missouri for his junior year.
During the 2025‑26 campaign with the Tigers, he averaged 7.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, numbers that reflect a role more defined by spacing and defense than by volume scoring.
His freshman and sophomore years at UCLA coincided with a run to the 2025 NCAA Tournament, a second‑round appearance that helped cement his reputation as a reliable contributor on a deep roster.
A Blend of Experience and Fresh Talent
The Rebels will also be bolstered by the return of forwards Tyrin Jones and Issac Williamson, both of whom have pledged to stay through the 2026‑27 season, creating a blend of experience and fresh talent.
Head coach Josh Pastner, now in his second year at UNLV, expressed enthusiasm about Mack’s arrival, noting that the guard’s shooting touch and defensive versatility should add a new dimension to the team’s offense.
Pastner’s staff believes Mack can help the program close the gap with traditional powerhouses in the Mountain West, positioning the Rebels for a stronger showing in conference play and potentially a deeper run in the NCAA Tournament.
