Van Paschal Appointed Head Football Coach at Harrison High School
Harrison High School announced this week that Van Paschal has been hired as its new head football coach, tasking the veteran with revitalizing the program just weeks before the athletic dead period begins.
Paschal arrives after a distinguished tenure at Cross County, where he guided the team to a 12‑2 record and a Class 2A state championship. His career record stands at 264‑138, placing him eighth among Arkansas coaches in total victories.
He succeeds Chris Keylon, who stepped down to accept a similar role at a high school in Tennessee. Athletic Director Chris Pratt expressed enthusiasm about the hire, citing Paschal’s proven track record and leadership style.
A Legacy of Winning and Character Building
Known for blending a strong defensive scheme with a focus on personal development, Paschal aims to assess the team’s strengths and weaknesses during his brief preparation window.
The upcoming weeks will be devoted to installing his system, building rapport with players, and laying the groundwork for a competitive season ahead.
