A statewide fan poll conducted to honor the most outstanding high school baseball players in Wisconsin has named Alex Michna, a junior at New Berlin Eisenhower, as the state's top outfielder for the 2026 class. Michna captured 53 percent of the votes, underscoring his dominant performance throughout the season.
His impact went beyond individual accolades; the New Berlin Eisenhower squad clinched the WIAA Division 2 state championship, finishing the year with a 24‑5 record that placed them among the elite teams in the division.
The poll, which reflected on the achievements of fifteen standout athletes, also highlighted the competition among peers, with senior Ben Kuglitsch of Muskego securing second place with 21 percent of the vote, followed by Dominic Santarelli of Kenosha St. Joseph in third at 9 percent, Charlie McIntyre of Whitefish Bay in fourth with 6 percent, and Gage Honeyager of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln rounding out the top five with 3 percent.
Beyond the top five, several other players earned recognition through all‑state selections and honorable‑mention honors. Senior John Arnold of Sussex Hamilton received an all‑state honorable‑mention nod, while Cam Glusick of Sun Prairie East made the third‑team all‑state list. Luke Hartz from Johnson Creek and Ira Hilbelink of Cedar Grove‑Belgium were also named to the third team, and Dawson Luther of Pittsville earned second‑team honors. Additional awardees included Joe Meeter of Holmen, Matthew O'Grady of Badger, Dominick Walters of Franklin, and Ethan Westrate of Fall Creek, each contributing to the rich tapestry of talent across the state.
