Seacoast Baseball Teams Gear Up for State Tournaments
Last season, Exeter High School captured the Seacoast’s only baseball state championship, defeating Winnacunnet 3-1. The victory set a high bar for the region’s programs as they head into this year’s tournament.
All five Seacoast NHIAA Division I teams — Dover, Exeter, Portsmouth, Spaulding and Winnacunnet — have earned spots in the 15‑team field, joining competitors from other divisions across New Hampshire.
Dover’s Top Seed
Dover High School enters the Division I bracket as the No. 4 seed, boasting a 16‑4 regular‑season record. The team’s pitching rotation, anchored by Michael Gorman, Tyler Tiedge, Tyler Buchanan and Ben Cheek, has logged five shutouts this spring.
The offense has been equally potent, with Daniel Conrad, Logan Mosher, Connor Sprague and Sam MacGregor driving the lineup to double‑digit runs on eight occasions.
St. Thomas Aquinas’ Breakout Season
St. Thomas Aquinas High School, guided by seniors Kenny Avery and Ryan Gould alongside junior Gabe Carlisle and sophomore Brandon Skowron, has doubled its win total from the previous year, finishing with 14 victories and a projected top‑four seed in Division II.
Newmarket’s Undefeated Run
Newmarket Junior‑Senior High School stands out as the sole undefeated squad in the state, finishing the regular season 16‑0. The team has posted six shutouts, scored at least 11 runs in 13 games and recorded ten wins by double‑digit margins. Key contributors include Nate Fluet, Cason Donahue, Jackie Prompradit, Charlie Tudor and Matt Napoletano.
With a blend of seasoned seniors and emerging talent, the Seacoast contingent is poised to make a deep run in the upcoming state tournaments, promising competitive matchups across Divisions I through IV.
