The Sandpoint Sasquatch 17U baseball squad traveled to Boise last weekend to take part in the annual Summer Kickoff tournament, a showcase that pits some of the region’s most promising teenage talent against each other.
In their opening game they faced Champion Baseball 18U and settled for a 6‑6 tie that stretched into six innings. A disciplined offense and solid pitching kept the score level, with Blake Bogadi delivering a pair of RBI doubles and Daniel Holman adding an RBI single that helped fuel a five‑run fifth inning.

The following day the team fell 10‑5 to Idaho Show 17U. Despite the loss, Daniel Holman struck an RBI double and Broden Collins also doubled, while Chase Miller contributed a pair of singles to keep the offense moving.
A third contest against Bishop Kelly 18U ended in an 8‑0 shutout. Starter Broden Collins worked five innings of tight baseball, and reliever Andrew Aexel recorded three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of relief.
The Sasquatch closed the tournament on a high note, defeating Columbia 12‑6 in five innings. Erik Hansen went 2‑for‑3 with two runs scored and an RBI double, while Carson Resso smashed a two‑run double that helped pull the team ahead. Landon Day and Austyn Young each added RBI singles, and Trevor Tadic contributed multiple RBIs.
Looking ahead, the squad will head to the Whitworth Prospect Series from June 5‑7, where they are slated to meet the Spokane Rawlings Tigers, the Kalispell Sluggers and the Spokane Expos.
