Pella High School’s summer athletic programs are in the thick of a packed schedule, with baseball, softball and girls soccer all slated for key contests in the coming days.
Conference Doubleheaders
The baseball and softball teams will meet the Newton Cardinals in a home doubleheader that marks the first conference matchups of the season. The baseball squad arrives at a 2-5 record, looking to rebound after a rough stretch, while the softball team, ranked ninth in Class 4A, will host a 3-2 Newton side.
Fans will be able to catch the second game of the softball doubleheader live on the KRLS2 stream, adding a broadcast option for those unable to attend in person.
Soccer Postseason Opener
The Dutch girls soccer team opens the postseason on Tuesday against Bondurant-Farrar, a rematch of the season-opening 2-1 victory that saw the Dutch edge the Bluejays. The regional semifinal is set for a 7 p.m. start.
With streaming options and community support, the upcoming games promise to be pivotal moments for the Dutch programs as they aim to build momentum heading into the latter half of the season.
