Maryland’s football program has added a series of verbal commitments that bolster its 2027 recruiting class, bringing the total to eight pledges as the staff continues to chase additional talent.
Commitments and Upcoming Visits
Offensive lineman Abdus Kone, the only unrated prospect in the class and a graduate of North Shore High School in Houston, has joined the roster. Three‑star running back Terrance Grant Jr., the highest‑ranked recruit, also committed, while Caleb Canty, another offensive lineman, has scheduled official trips to Oklahoma State and Memphis in June. Safety Kevin Jackson, a three‑star prospect, remains slated for a Maryland visit despite his pledge, and quarterback William Jackson from Lake Minneola, Florida, rounded out the class with his own commitment.
Beyond the Gridiron
In other sports, Maryland women’s basketball recruit Jordyn Jackson took part in the USA under‑18 national team trials, while track and field athletes Morgan Graham and Jennessa Wolfe represented the university at the NCAA regional meet in Lexington, Kentucky.
Scheduling Shifts
The Terps also tweaked their agreement with Virginia Tech, inserting a matchup against Baylor into the future slate, a move that reflects the program’s strategic approach to non‑conference play.
With eight signatories already on board, Maryland’s coaching staff is poised to keep the momentum alive, targeting further additions before the next recruiting cycle.
