A Legend Returns to the Hall of Fame Conversation
Randall Cobb arrived at the University of Kentucky with a reputation for making game‑changing plays, and over four seasons he rewrote the record books.
His most celebrated season came in 2010 when he amassed 2,396 all‑purpose yards, establishing a new SEC benchmark, and he finished his collegiate career with 37 touchdowns, the highest total in school history.
Cobb’s impact extended beyond statistics; he was a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, recognizing the nation’s most versatile player, and he delivered five fourth‑quarter touchdowns that swung games in Kentucky’s favor.
After graduating in 2016, Cobb transitioned to the NFL, where a 13‑year professional stint saw him compile more than 7,600 receiving yards and 54 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2014.
His achievements have already been honored with inductions into the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame (2017), the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame (2022) and the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame (2025), underscoring a legacy that spans college and pro football.
Now the spotlight returns as the National Football Foundation prepares to unveil the 2027 College Football Hall of Fame class, with Cobb among the candidates; the voting deadline is set for July 1, 2027.
