Kansas State's women's soccer program announced a new addition to its coaching staff, naming Travis Brown as an assistant coach for the 2026 season. Brown will focus on the team's goalkeepers, bringing a wealth of experience that spans collegiate, professional and youth soccer.
His career includes stints at Dayton, where he helped the program to a 22‑5‑11 record and reached the conference title game, and at Christopher Newport University, which advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament's Round of 32.
Brown also served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at Dayton, mentoring players Dario Caetano and Gavin Krenecki to standout statistics and multiple shutouts.
A Proven Goalkeeping Mentor
Prior to his collegiate roles, he coached professionally with Charlottesville Blues FC and at the youth level with clubs such as Cincinnati United Premier, Virginia Legacy Soccer Club and HR Sportsplex.
He also played at the semi‑professional level for Lionsbridge FC in the USL 2, contributing to division‑title‑winning squads.
Brown holds a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management and possesses a range of coaching licenses that underscore his preparation for this role.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The move comes as K‑State reflects on a historic 2025 season that saw the program set 49 school records and achieve its first ever winning record under head coach Colleen Corbin.
Corbin praised Brown's track record, stating that his expertise will strengthen the team's defensive foundation as the Wildcats aim to build on recent successes.
With his blend of playing experience, coaching achievements and academic background, Brown is expected to play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of goalkeepers for Kansas State.
