Clemson’s 2027 Recruiting Surge
Clemson’s 2027 football recruiting class has vaulted into the top ten of national rankings, now sitting at No. 6 as the Tigers reel in a wave of new commitments.
The surge follows a flurry of pledges between May 18 and June 1, during which the coaching staff secured twelve new athletes, a mix of three‑ and four‑star prospects.
Notable Commitments
Among the headline names are offensive linemen Luke Starcevic, JJ Brown, Elijah Morrison and Carter Jones, as well as edge rushers Desmond Malpress and Santana Harvey.
The class also added running back Gary Walker, wide receiver Jamarin Simmons, safety Jarrell Chandler, and three‑star wideout Julian Cromartie, among others.
A Look Back and Forward
Coach Dabo Swinney highlighted the group during a weekend visit that attracted four‑star linebackers Roman Igwebuike and Sean Fox, underscoring the program’s momentum.
Historically, Clemson’s last top‑five finish came in 2021, a class that produced standouts such as Barrett Carter, Will Shipley and Phil Mafah. The current cohort aims to replicate that impact while avoiding the decommitments that plagued the 2025 and 2026 cycles.
Despite a pattern of losing seven recruits in 2025 and three in 2026, the Tigers remain hopeful that the current commitments will hold through early signing day, potentially delivering the first top‑five finish in six years.
If the current pipeline stays intact, the class could reshape the Tigers’ roster and reinforce their ACC standing, a prospect that excites fans and analysts alike.
