A Season of Breakthroughs
Blake Primrose, a sophomore catcher for the Saint Joseph's Hawks, has been recognized with a place on the Division I Baseball All-ECAC Team, a testament to his dominant performance this year.
Primrose topped the Atlantic 10 conference in several key offensive metrics, including batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, runs scored, and home runs, underscoring his all-around impact at the plate.
His power surge translated into new single-season program records: 24 home runs, 78 runs scored, and 72 runs batted in, marks that have reshaped the Hawks' record books.
The catcher's consistency earned him three selections as Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, and he was further honored as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's National Hitter of the Month for April.
Beyond statistical achievements, Primrose's name appears among 16 semifinalists for the prestigious Buster Posey Award, a honor that highlights not only raw production but also exemplary catching skill and leadership.
Coach Mike McRae praised Primrose's work ethic and baseball IQ, noting that his presence behind the plate has stabilized the team's defense while providing a potent offensive spark.
With the season still unfolding, the Hawks look to build around Primrose's momentum as they aim for conference contention and a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
