Eastern Kentucky University announced this week that Molly Davis will join its basketball staff as an assistant coach, bringing a blend of playing experience and coaching acumen to the program.
Davis enjoyed a two‑year stint at Iowa where she logged 5.9 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game during the 2023‑24 season, shooting 53.9 % overall, 40.7 % from three‑point range and 85.7 % from the free‑throw line.
Prior to her arrival in Kentucky, Davis spent two seasons at the University of Evansville, progressing from graduate assistant to full‑time assistant coach and honing her tactical understanding of the game.
Greg Todd, the head coach of the Colonels, highlighted Davis’s background, noting that she has experienced two national championship games alongside Caitlin Clark, a factor he believes will enrich the team’s culture and competitiveness.
A Program on the Rise
The Colonels capped the 2025‑26 campaign with a 25‑9 record, going 15‑3 in ASUN play, and secured an automatic berth in the WBIT after capturing the conference’s regular‑season crown.
Davis’s addition is expected to bolster the team’s shooting efficiency and playmaking depth, qualities that align with the program’s recent emphasis on high‑tempo offense and disciplined defense.
University officials expressed confidence that Davis’s blend of collegiate success and coaching development will help sustain the program’s upward trajectory in the coming seasons.
