Alaska Nanooks women's basketball announced the addition of Oakley Homer, a 5‑9 shooting guard from Pocatello, Idaho, who will join the program for the 2026‑27 season.
A New Chapter for the Nanooks
Head coach Michael Ricks praised Homer's energy and competitiveness, saying she will make a strong impact on the team.
Homer arrives after two seasons at Big Bend Community College in Washington, where she helped the team to back‑to‑back winning campaigns and posted career‑high shooting percentages.
During her first year at Big Bend she averaged 9.4 points per game, shooting 33.7% from the floor, 30.4% from three‑point range and 84.6% from the free‑throw line, contributing to a 23‑7 record. In her sophomore season she raised those numbers to 11.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 40.4% from the floor, 33.5% from beyond the arc and 87.5% from the line, en route to a 27‑4 mark and a second straight NWAC championship.
Off the court, Homer expressed excitement about joining the Nanooks and the opportunity to grow as a player and person.
The signing underscores the Nanooks' continued push to strengthen their roster ahead of the upcoming season, adding a versatile guard with a proven track record of efficiency and clutch performances.
